Michael Bolton Makes Waves on 'SNL' With Lonely Island's 'Jack Sparrow'

U.K. electro-pop songstress Ellie Goulding may have been the musical guest on last night's (May 7) "Saturday Night Live," but Michael Bolton stole the show. Appearing in the SNL Digital Short "Jack Sparrow" alongside the Lonely Island, Bolton did a lot more than just show off his massive voice. Turns out the beloved crooner is also a "major cinephile," as Andy Samberg points out.
It all starts when Bolton rolls into the recording studio after watching a "Pirates of the Carribean" marathon, channeling Captain Jack Sparrow all the way. When it becomes apparent that references from the "Pirates" film franchise aren't flying with the Lonely Island guys, Bolton experiments with a few other films, including "Forrest Gump," "Scarface," even "Erin Brockovich."

The digital short doubles as the video for "Jack Sparrow," the Lonely Island's new single. The song appears on the comedy-rap trio's upcoming second album, "Turtleneck and Chain," out this Tuesday (May 10).
