Lynyrd Skynyrd fans who purchased tickets for the July 16 show in Bay City will be please to hear the band is raking in good reviews on its tour.
The band, along with co-headliner ZZ Top, "took the fans who grew up with them partying like it was the 1970s and 1980s again," according to a review in the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch from a show Wednesday night.
Lynyrd Skynyrd thrilled fans with "What's Your Name" and "That Smell," and ended the night with "Simple Man," which vocalist Johnny Van Zant dedicated to U.S. troops.
The band performed May 14 in Oklahoma City, Okla., where the crowd gratefully sang along to the LS anthem "Free Bird."
And on May 16 in Lubbock, Texas, the band worked the crowd into a "near frenzy" with "Sweet Home Alabama."
Tickets to Lynyrd Skynyrd's Bay City show at Veterans Memorial Park are $35 for general admission seats and $55 for VIP seats, and are available at Prime Brothers Furniture, 1500 S. Euclid Ave.; Graff Chevrolet, 3636 Wilder Road, and at Baycom locations at 3277 Tittabawassee Road in Saginaw Township and 6517 Eastman Ave. in Midland.
