A heavyweight battle between former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir and Roy "Big Country" Nelson was the co-main event for the UFC 130 fight card.
Before the fight a great deal had been made about these two being friends, a fact that the fighters said, was just not true. So, the idea that these two would be reluctant to go after each other went out the window when that talk went by the wayside.
Nelson entered the fight to the strains of Weird Al Yankovic's "Fat," a tribute to his own physique.
The goal in this fight was for Mir to solidify his status in the heavyweight division, while Nelson looked to enter the top ten.
Nelson bum rushed Mir against the cage and Mir then looked for a single leg which he was unable to stick. Nelson then held Mir against the cage for a brief moment with Mir delivering a knee and then a headkick to Nelson.
