The song "For Good," composed by Stephen Schwartz, a Grammy Award and Oscar winner, will be heard during the season finale of "Glee" and was featured on the second-to-last airing of "The Oprah Winfrey Show” on Tuesday.
Schwartz wrote the song for Broadway musical "Wicked," which is a farewell duet between Elphaba and Glinda, the song is about how the two witches have been changed by their friendship.
"It's absolutely amazing to me that this is happening," said Schwartz in an interview with the Associated Press.
Actress Kristin Chenoweth, who played Glinda in Wicked, was seen singing the song at Oprah's farewell on Tuesday.
Glee stars Lea Michele and Chris Colfer sing “For Good” on the second season closer at the Gershwin Theatre.
"I have had this happen before but there's something about the way this particular song is used that really feels good to me," Schwartz says. "What writer wouldn't be excited about that?"
"Obviously, the confluence of both `Glee' and the Oprah show is one of those once-in-a-lifetime coincidences that you just have to smile and enjoy," Schwartz said.
